I haven’t played Consulting Detective in many years, but from what I remember, the pacing was much more slow. I remember pouring over the news paper, maps, and journals. All in all, SHCD has a much more tactile feel to it. Chronicles of Crime definitely feels more frantic, from the constant scanning to even the music in the app. However the VR room scanning is really fantastic and I loved calling out things that might be relevant. Both games have their pluses and minuses, and can probably happily coexist on the same game shelf if you are a fan of the genre.

However, since they’re now making new volumes of Consulting Detective and I’ve always enjoyed its relaxed pace what you say in the review about struggling to review information because of the app puts me off a bit. How do they compare directly?
